About us

Allison Zank, Founder

Allison Zank is the founder of Feline Grove and Chunkle & Puff, where botanical science meets design for the cat with impeccable taste.

Trained in biochemistry, microbiology, and formulation, her work centers on how plant compounds interact with living systems, translating laboratory insight into objects for daily life.

Her path into cat care began with her first grand-cat, a deeply loved, very round companion who had lost interest in play. Toys accumulated, untouched. It was easy to assume he simply didn’t enjoy them, but the truth felt more unsettling: something essential had gone quiet. That question led her to study what actually stirs feline interest across cultures, developing a layered botanical approach inspired by global plant traditions and the slow French art of scent capture, resulting in what would become Miracle Nip.

Allison designs each product with a dual focus on sensory engagement and visual restraint. Toys are woven and weighted with intention, scents are composed for depth and longevity, and every detail is considered for how it will be experienced by both cat and home.

What began as a question about one cat has grown into a design-forward practice grounded in science, craftsmanship, and a belief that cats deserve objects as thoughtful as the spaces they inhabit.

Ev Ordorff, Contract Crocheter

Ev Ordorff is a contract crocheter for Chunkle & Puff, where her work brings each design into physical form with precision and care. An art student by training, she approaches each piece with a sensitivity to structure, texture, and proportion, translating concept into something tangible, durable, and quietly expressive.

Her process is deliberate. Each toy is woven with consistency and attention to detail, ensuring that form and function remain aligned from the first stitch to the last. The result is work that feels considered in the hand and holds up to repeated play, maintaining both its structure and its character over time.

Through her craftsmanship, Ev plays a central role in shaping the tactile experience of Chunkles, helping transform botanical and behavioral ideas into objects that invite engagement and endure within the home.

Josephine Barstad

Josephine is a contract crocheter for Feline Grove, creating pieces that reflect a steady hand and a careful eye for form. Her work is defined by consistency, structure, and an attention to detail.

What began as a personal hobby grew into a disciplined craft. She approaches each piece with patience, focusing on even tension, clean shaping, and durability that holds through repeated use. Nothing is rushed. Each object is made to feel considered, balanced, and complete.

Her contribution to Chunkle & Puff lies in that reliability. The shapes hold. The stitching endures. The result is a piece that feels as good in the hand as it does in the home.

Outside of her work with fiber, Josephine teaches voice, a practice that reflects the same underlying qualities: attentiveness, control, and an appreciation for subtle refinement.

Dan Brown

Dan Brown leads retail outreach for Feline Grove, shaping the relationships that carry the brand beyond the studio and into thoughtfully chosen spaces.

A retired attorney, he brings a measured, deliberate approach to partnership. Rather than pursuing visibility for its own sake, he focuses on alignment: shops, galleries, and environments where objects are chosen with care and kept with intention.

Each relationship is built with attention to detail, from first introduction to final placement. Dan works closely with retailers to ensure that what arrives on their shelves feels coherent with the space it enters, both visually and conceptually.

At Feline Grove, his role is not simply to place products, but to extend the world around them.
